Susie Q!!!

Back in the day, there were two Susie Q restaurants in the Detroit area. One on Woodward Ave. in Royal Oak and one that seems almost forgotten on Gratiot Ave. in Roseville. The Roseville location is now a National Coney Island, after having been an Arthur Treacher's Fish and Chips and Dimitri's in the interim. The rotating conical sign is a landmark. It's one of the few cool things that have survived in the city that was once the home of the wonderous Gratiot Drive-In, and a vintage Federal's Department Store with a cool neon clock tower. Roseville was a cool town to grow up in, but never had the brightest city council people and mayors. The current Roseville city fathers refuse to allow the Gratiot Cruise to pass through the city. I hate what they've done to my town! Enjoy!

Very nice find! I wondered about that place when I ate there a couple of years ago. It seemed kinda vintage. I'll have to get some better pics of it, these are all I could find online....
